Social Media & Events Intern — NYC (In-Person)

About the role

We’re a cross-partisan civic media and events company looking for a sharp, self-directed intern to own our content engine end-to-end. If you live on TikTok, have a point of view on what makes content work, and are excited about building AI-powered workflows from scratch, read on.

What you’ll do

Capture content at all NYC events (mandatory, ~2x per month, in-person) — this is non-negotiable. You’ll be on the ground with a camera/phone capturing footage, interviews, and B-roll. Edit and distribute that content across TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn — tailored to each platform’s format and audience. Post daily across all three channels, maintaining a consistent voice and cadence. Build AI automation and a repeatable content framework — set up tools and workflows (e.g., transcription, captioning, cutdowns, scheduling) so the system scales without scaling headcount.

You’re a fit if you

Are based in NYC and can reliably attend evening/weekend events Have a strong portfolio of short-form video editing (CapCut, Premiere, or similar) Understand platform-native content — not just reposting the same clip three times Are fluent with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Descript, Opus Clip, etc.) and excited to experiment Work independently, move fast, and document what you build Bonus Interest in politics, media, or civic engagement Experience growing a social account (yours or a brand’s) Logistics Part-time, paid, hybrid with mandatory in-person event coverage in NYC.
