As a Junior Designer, you will work side by side with our Senior Designer to support a busy, highly collaborative team of marketing professionals. In this role, you will help maintain design consistency across WPP Media and our portfolio of brands, ensuring our everyday collateral is clean, professional, and on-brand. You will thrive in this position if you enjoy a fast-paced environment, a diverse range of tasks, and are highly organized and detail-oriented. By delivering polished, accurate, and professional assets, your work directly supports our agency brands to showcase their capabilities and drive business growth across Australia.

Key Relationships and Role Context:

  • Report directly to the WPP Media Head of Growth and Marketing in Australia, while collaborating daily with the Senior Designer and Chief Growth Officer.

  • Partner with marketing and growth leads across core agency brands, including EssenceMediacom, Mindshare, and Wavemaker, to support their market presence.

  • Support a centralized workflow where PowerPoint production makes up 90% of the daily outputs, alongside 10% dedicated to print and digital asset design.

  • Own the fast-turnaround visual polish of high-volume growth deliverables, from client pitch decks to social templates, under compressed timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, format, and polish high-volume PowerPoint presentations and new business pitches, ensuring layouts are engaging and visually clean.

  • Produce supporting brand assets, including lock-ups, custom icons, and visual mock-ups, for digital and print campaigns.

  • Provide design guidance, visual assets, and quality control for EDMs, social media, and email campaigns built by the marketing team.

  • Perform technical image editing, including deep-etching, color correcting, and resizing imagery, using Photoshop and AI-assisted retouching tools.

  • Prepare press-ready files with accurate bleeds, trims, and CMYK color spaces, and manage basic print-production specifications.

  • Build user-friendly, robust PowerPoint templates and self-service assets to streamline recurring marketing requests.

  • Organize and maintain a clean shared asset library to ensure the wider team can easily locate and utilize collateral.

What You'll Bring (Required Skills):

  • Specialist presentation design skills, with the ability to construct, format, and animate high-quality layouts within Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Professional proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, to support print and digital projects.

  • Practical experience preparing and pre-flighting files for physical print production and digital screen use.

  • High attention to detail, specifically with text alignment, brand guidelines, and copy formatting across multi-page documents.

  • Technical image editing skills, including deep-etching, photo retouching, and color correction.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with designers and non-designers alike.

  • An approachable, positive, and collaborative attitude with a genuine willingness to manage daily production loads and ad-hoc requests.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Hands-on experience using AI-assisted tools within Photoshop to retouch images and create detailed mock-ups.

  • Basic motion design or video editing skills, with a working knowledge of After Effects, Premiere, or Canva.

  • Prior experience working within a media, creative, or corporate marketing agency environment.
