The Challenge
You're the first marketing hire at a stealth startup with real revenue and product-market fit in the AI-powered document automation space. Build a scalable demand engine that separates them from OCR hype while optimizing for pipeline conversion, not vanity metrics.
Your Mission
Define ideal customer profile (ICP) and positioning roadmap across verticals (finance, legal, logistics, manufacturing); align with outbound sales on target buyer personas
Establish baseline performance metrics for Google, LinkedIn, and Meta; launch initial paid campaigns optimized for cost per lead and pipeline impact
Audit and own marketing tech stack; identify and implement 2-3 AI tools to automate creative iteration, lead enrichment, and reporting workflows
Produce first three high-performing assets (case study, vertical-specific guide, thought leadership piece) that differentiate from generic AI/OCR narratives
Achieve predictable cost per qualified lead and pipeline contribution across all three paid channels; demonstrate month-over-month efficiency gains
Build and run weekly experimentation cadence (audience targeting, messaging, creative variants) with closed-won analysis tied to budget allocation
Establish organic growth engine: own SEO roadmap, launch content hub with original research, and build social proof assets that earn credibility beyond paid reach
Scale paid volume while maintaining or improving unit economics; forecast pipeline contribution and manage marketing budget allocation with accountability
KPIs You'll Own
Cost Per Qualified Lead (CPQL)
Track efficiency of paid channels (Google, LinkedIn, Meta) against pipeline contribution, not impressions.
Pipeline Generated & Conversion Rate
Measure marketing's impact on closed-won deals; tie every dollar spent to revenue contribution.
Experiments Run Per Week
Count iterations on audience, messaging, and creative to identify winners faster than competitors.
Content Performance (Engagement, Lead Gen)
Track case studies, guides, and thought leadership by downloads, shares, and attributed pipeline.
CAC Payback Period
Measure how quickly revenue from acquired customers repays marketing spend.

Benefits & Perks
Company Intelligence
Stealth startup automating document processing for finance and operations teams. Turns messy, unstructured documents (scanned, handwritten, multiple formats) into validated structured data flowing directly into ERPs. Low single-digit millions ARR, growing quickly, and ready to scale pipeline.
Culture
Move fast, iterate, own outcomes, embrace ambiguity; bias toward building over strategizing
Is This Role For You?
- You've grown demand at $1-10M ARR B2B SaaS companies and understand the difference between MQLs and pipeline
- You're obsessed with new AI tools, prompt engineering, and using automation to move faster than agencies
- You've owned paid channels (Google, LinkedIn, Meta) and SEO; you have opinions on what good unit economics look like
- You're comfortable with ambiguity and can move from strategy to execution on day one; you thrive in scrappy, founder-led environments
- You understand legacy industries (finance, legal, logistics, manufacturing) or the pain of selling to them
- You need clear processes, hand-holding, or a large team to execute, this is a build-it-yourself role
- You're uncomfortable with 5 days on-site in NYC or you need remote flexibility
- You optimize for brand awareness and impressions over pipeline and closed-won deals; you can't tie spend to revenue
