The Challenge
Oumi is building the open-source AI platform for the next generation of ML practitioners. As Head of Growth, you'll architect a dual-motion playbook that converts open-source developers into power users while simultaneously scaling enterprise AI adoption—from zero to predictable growth.
Your Mission
Map current user funnel across open-source and early enterprise segments; identify top 3 conversion bottlenecks and 30-day fixes
Define ICP, buyer personas, and use cases for both PLS (developer) and enterprise (CTO/VP Eng) motions with input from sales/product
Launch one high-impact activation experiment (onboarding flow, in-product value prop, or early enterprise outbound campaign)
Establish weekly growth metrics dashboard tracking acquisition, activation, retention, and expansion across both motions
Scale PLS motion: hit 40%+ month-over-month activation rate and 25%+ self-serve conversion from free tier to paid
Build and launch enterprise sales motion: close 5-8 enterprise pilots/POCs with clear expansion metrics and playbook documentation
Develop open-source-to-enterprise conversion strategy; measure 15%+ of open-source active users in sales funnel
Establish repeatable unit economics for both motions; target CAC payback <12 months for enterprise, <3 months for PLS

% of free users converting to paid in self-serve motion; target 3-7% depending on cohort.
Enterprise ACV & Sales Cycle
Average contract value and days from first touch to close; establish baseline and drive toward 45-60 day close.
Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) Growth
Combined growth rate across PLS and enterprise; target 10-15% MoM in early stage.
Open-Source to Enterprise Pipeline Conversion
% of OSS users/contributors entering enterprise sales pipeline; establish baseline then optimize.
Logo Retention & Net Revenue Retention (NRR)
Enterprise logo churn and expansion revenue; target <5% churn, >110% NRR by month 6.

- You've led growth at a 0-to-1 or seed-to-Series A startup and thrived in undefined, fast-moving environments
- You fluently speak both product-led growth (activation, retention, virality) and enterprise sales (ICP, AE management, deal cycles)
- You're obsessed with metrics, experimentation, and building scalable playbooks—not vanity metrics
- You understand developer communities and open-source ecosystems; bonus if you've converted OSS users into paying customers
- You can think strategically about AI adoption barriers and translate technical capabilities into buyer value props
- You need a fully staffed team day one—this is scrappy, hands-on execution with a small crew
- You're uncomfortable with ambiguity; Oumi is pre-PMF in many segments and requires testing, pivoting, and ruthless prioritization
- You view growth as a pure demand-gen/marketing function; this role requires product sense and close partnership with engineering
- You haven't demonstrated clear ownership of metrics-driven growth; case studies and data matter more than titles
