The Challenge

Akeneo is hiring their first GTM Engineer to transform the sales funnel from manual hustle into an automated, data-driven machine. You'll architect the connective tissue between market signals and revenue execution, eliminating friction and scaling personalization at a level that keeps humans in the loop.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Map the existing GTM stack (Salesforce, enrichment tools, outreach platforms) and identify 2-3 critical manual bottlenecks in lead routing and account research

2

Build your first automated workflow in Clay/Cargo/n8n that ingests raw signals (tech-stack changes, hiring events, website behavior) and routes qualified leads to Sales with zero manual intervention

3

Set up instrumentation and baseline metrics for lead quality, conversion velocity, and time-to-first-touch to establish your measurement framework

4

Document and socialize 1-2 successful technical plays with the broader RevTech team to establish patterns for global adoption

By 6 Months
1

Deploy 4-5 end-to-end automated workflows across intent sourcing, data enrichment, personalization, and lead routing that measurably improve conversion rates by 15%+

2

Integrate LLM-powered account research to generate hyper-personalized outreach summaries (Account Cheat Sheets) delivered directly into CRM/Slack, reducing SDR research time by 40%+

3

A/B test 2-3 new growth hypotheses using rapid experimentation cycles (idea to live in days, bypassing dev backlogs) with clear win/loss documentation

4

Own the technical strategy for a new third-party intent data source (technographics, hiring trends, etc.), validate its signal quality, and recommend go/no-go for broader adoption

KPIs You'll Own

Lead Volume & Quality Score

Track automated leads generated weekly and their conversion-to-opportunity rate vs. manual sourcing baseline.

Time-to-First-Touch

Measure average hours from intent signal detection to qualified lead landing in Sales inbox.

SDR Research Time Saved

Monitor hours reclaimed per week through automated account research and data stitching automation.

Experimentation Velocity

Track number of A/B tests launched per month and time-to-insight (days from hypothesis to data-backed recommendation).

Workflow Adoption Rate

Percentage of global RevTech team utilizing documented technical plays and automation playbooks.

Is This Role For You?

For You If
  • You've built or optimized sales workflows in a RevOps or Growth Engineering role and want to architect at a larger scale
  • You're fluent in Python + SQL and comfortable integrating APIs across a complex tech stack (Salesforce, enrichment platforms, orchestration tools)
  • You think of the sales funnel as a technical product and get energized by automating away manual, repetitive work
  • You can move fast—scoping, building, testing, and iterating on workflows in days—and don't wait for perfect data or traditional dev cycles
  • You thrive when solving for both the technical execution AND the business outcome (conversion rates, velocity, cost per qualified lead)
Won't Work If
  • You need deep mentorship in Python/SQL fundamentals; this role assumes working proficiency and self-sufficiency in code-writing
  • You prefer greenfield engineering over rapid experimentation and iteration—this is about testing hypotheses quickly, not perfect architecture
  • You're uncomfortable with ambiguity or incomplete requirements; the first GTM Engineer role is about defining the function as you build it
  • You want traditional 9-to-5 fully remote work; this role requires on-site presence in Boston 1-2 days per week minimum

Interview Process

1

30-minute Screening Call

Initial conversation with Talent Acquisition team to assess background, motivation, and baseline fit for GTM Engineering.

2

60-minute Hiring Manager Interview

Deep dive into your GTM strategy thinking, workflow design experience, and how you approach scoping technical plays. Expect case study discussion.

3

60-minute Technical Interview

Live coding or architecture design focused on Python, SQL, API integration, and data workflow logic. Likely scenario: design an automated lead-routing workflow from raw signals.
