WHAT’S BREWING IN THIS ROLE...

The Director CPG Shopper Marketing will build and lead 7Brew’s end-to-end shopper marketing and commercial activation strategy, bringing CPG trade and retail marketing disciplines to 7 Brew. This role is responsible for architecting the full marketing growth system—from strategy and capability design to activation, measurement, and continuous optimization—driving measurable traffic, conversion, frequency, and loyalty across a rapidly scaling footprint. The person will define the strategy, operating model, tools, and performance management needed to scale a modern shopper-centric marketing approach. This role will also manage all 3rd party agencies supporting outreach and activation activities in retail while interfacing with cross-functional and marketing roles at 7 Brew.


THE FLAVOR YOU ADD...

Shopper Growth Strategy

  • Build the company’s 3-5 year shopper marketing vision and roadmap for prioritized channels and customers.
  • Translate over-arching brand strategy into retailer-specific activations that drives conversion and repeat.
  • Create a clear framework for where and how we win at shelf and online.
  • Establish KPIs for measuring success and prioritize investments to maximize ROI.


Category Management Excellence

  • Leverage consumer insights, market data, and retailer analytics/requests to enhance category performance and optimize product placement and assortment.
  • Lead retailer-driven category planning, assortment strategy, merchandising solutions, and shelf optimization to drive incremental sales.


Retail Activation That Drives Velocity

  • Own pricing, retailer promotions (internal), trade spend, resets, and annual planning as well as all out-of-store brand/product marketing activations.
  • Oversee all in-store programs: displays, POS, merchandising tools, sampling, seasonal programs, and promotions.
  • Drive execution w/ marketing partners: launches, merchandising, velocity programs, and expansion into new doors/regions.
  • Partner with Sales, Customers and Agencies to support resets, expansions, and new account launches.
  • Develop customer-specific plans that strengthen retailer partnerships.


Omnichannel & Digital Shelf Leadership

  • Ensure seamless integration between in-store and digital activation and out-of-store integrated brand/product building activities (including integrations with 7 Brew stands when appropriate).
  • Partner on retailer media networks (Walmart Connect, Kroger Precision Marketing, Target Roundel, Amazon, etc.).
  • Improve digital shelf performance: content, conversion drivers, retail media alignment.
  • Help bridge the gap between brand marketing and commerce performance.


Trade & Investment Discipline

  • Oversee shopper marketing budgets and ensure strong return on spend.
  • Work with Sales + Finance to improve trade efficiency and promotional ROI.
  • Build reporting systems that connect activation to incremental sales.


Process (& Team) Builder

  • Establish planning calendars, activation playbooks, and execution standards.
  • Create alignment across Sales, Brand, Supply Chain, and Finance.
  • Work strategically with 3rd party agencies to drive success metrics.
  • Bring structure — without slowing the startup speed.
  • Lead and grow the CPG marketing function as the company scales and build a team as needed.


MUST-HAVE INGREDIENTS...

  • 10+ years in shopper marketing / trade marketing within CPG
  • Proven experience leading shopper strategy for major retail accounts.
  • Strong commercial acumen — you understand velocity, margin, trade, and retailer economics.
  • Experience scaling brands across grocery, convenience, mass, club, ecommerce, and specialty.
  • Comfort working in a high-growth, evolving environment.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Executive presence — able to influence internally and with retail partners.
  • Experience managing a team of direct reports and 3rd party agencies.
