The Safe Foundation is a nonprofit addiction treatment and prevention organization. We operate State-licensed outpatient drug, alcohol, and gambling treatment programs in Brooklyn, New York and Eatontown, New Jersey, alongside preventive services and educational programming. SAFE’s client-centered, holistic approach emphasizes family involvement.
Safe Parenting provides tools and strategies through workshops, events, and media to help parents and children navigate adolescence.
Project Safe delivers school-based life-skills education focused on prevention, communication, coping, and resilience.
The Mindful Eating Project supports individuals in improving their relationship with food, weight, and body image.
Position Overview:
SAFE is seeking a creative, organized Marketing Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis (approximately 20–25 hours per week). This role is ideal for someone early in their marketing career seeking hands-on experience across design, content creation, and digital outreach, with the possibility of expanding into a full-time position as organizational needs increase.
This junior-to-mid level role will provide mentorship, skills growth, and opportunities to lead meaningful campaigns that support SAFE’s mission.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support development and execution of marketing campaigns across digital and print platformsWrite and edit compelling content including articles, blog posts, newsletters/eblasts, and social media copyDesign brand-aligned graphics and visual assets for a variety of materialsManage and regularly update the organization’s Instagram channels and other digital platformsMaintain a content calendar that supports strategic, timely campaignsAssist with website updates and ensure digital content adheres to brand guidelinesCoordinate marketing efforts for special events (fundraising, educational, community)Monitor trends and support continuous improvement of communication strategiesCollaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure messaging supports organizational goalsDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field preferredGraphic design skills with strong understanding of composition, typography, and layoutProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)Demonstrated ability to write and produce articles, blog posts, and marketing newsletters/eblastsExperience in digital/content marketing, preferably in nonprofit or mission-driven settingsFamiliarity with Squarespace, MS Office; video creation/editing experience is a plusStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projectsPolished written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsCollaborative mindset and enthusiasm for learning and growthPassion for community service and staying current with digital marketing trendsWHY THIS ROLE IS GREAT FOR YOU
