The Challenge

VacationRenter is a unicorn-trajectory travel marketplace (hit $1B GMV in 2 years) looking to scale user acquisition across paid channels. You'll own the growth engine reporting directly to the Head of Growth—testing new channels, optimizing existing ones, and launching mobile app campaigns at scale.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Audit existing paid channel performance (programmatic, OTT/CTV, Meta, Affiliate) and identify 2-3 quick wins to improve ROAS within 30 days

Build cross-functional tracking infrastructure with Analytics and Engineering to establish baseline cohort metrics, LTV, and CAC by channel

3

Launch and optimize 2-3 new channel tests (emerging platforms, geo-expansion, or audience segments) with clear success criteria

4

Develop 90-day performance marketing strategy document outlining channel mix, budget allocation, and growth targets

By 6 Months
1

Scale top 3 performing channels by 50%+ while maintaining or improving ROAS through creative testing and audience refinement

Own full launch of mobile app acquisition campaigns via Apple Search Ads and Google App Campaigns, hitting download and activation targets

Establish international expansion playbook for 2+ new geographic markets with localized channel strategies

Build automated dashboards and weekly reporting cadence that surfaces actionable insights to leadership and product teams

KPIs You'll Own

CAC (Cost Per Acquisition) by Channel

Track blended and channel-specific acquisition costs to optimize spend allocation and identify efficiency gains.

ROAS (Return on Ad Spend)

Measure revenue generated per dollar spent across all paid channels to evaluate campaign profitability.

Cohort LTV (Lifetime Value)

Monitor long-term value of users acquired from each channel to inform sustainable growth strategies.

Mobile App Install Rate & Day-7 Activation

Key metrics for app campaign success, tracking both downloads and meaningful user engagement post-install.

Onboarding Conversion Rate

Measure % of users who complete signup-to-first-booking funnel, optimized with product partnership.

For You If
  • You've scaled paid acquisition campaigns across 3+ channels (programmatic, social, app, CTV, affiliate) and can show real ROAS improvements
  • You're comfortable with SQL, analytics platforms (Mixpanel, Amplitude), and can self-serve data to test hypotheses
  • You thrive in scrappy, fast-moving startups and enjoy hands-on execution—not just strategy
  • You've worked on mobile app growth or marketplace products and understand unit economics, cohorts, and LTV
  • You're a relentless optimizer who A/B tests everything and makes decisions based on data, not gut feel
Won't Work If
  • You need remote flexibility—this is on-site in Dallas with no explicit remote option
  • You're a brand marketer at heart; this role is 100% performance-driven and metric-obsessed
  • You haven't managed paid budgets >$100K/month or don't have hands-on PPC/campaign management experience
  • You prefer stable, predictable processes; VacationRenter will demand speed, experimentation, and pivoting based on data
