The Challenge

Reflex is building a cult brand among developers and needs a growth engineer who codes. You'll own the entire growth engine—from SEO pipelines to conversion funnels to in-product activation—partnering directly with the CEO to ship infrastructure that moves real metrics.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Audit and instrument the existing acquisition channels (SEO, paid, organic); establish baseline metrics and identify top 2 quick wins

2

Build or optimize the landing page and signup funnel; run first 3 A/B tests targeting conversion improvements

3

Set up growth tracking infrastructure (event schema, dashboards, experiment framework) so all growth initiatives are legible

4

Launch one bold technical marketing campaign or growth stunt targeting the developer audience

By 6 Months
1

Scale one acquisition channel 3x (programmatic SEO, referral system, or paid performance marketing) with repeatable playbook

2

Own and ship product-led growth features: onboarding flows, activation triggers, smart paywalls, and in-product expansion mechanics

3

Build a high-performing experimentation culture: run 2+ experiments per week, document learnings, compound results

4

Engineer UGC loops and community tooling; establish Reflex as a recognizable brand on LinkedIn, X, and GitHub among target developer segment

KPIs You'll Own

CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost)

Total growth spend divided by new customers acquired; track by channel to identify most efficient acquisition levers.

Conversion Rate (Landing Page → Signup)

Percentage of visitors who complete signup; primary funnel metric to optimize weekly.

Activation Rate

Percentage of signups who complete key onboarding steps and reach first value moment.

MoM Growth Rate

Month-over-month percentage growth in signups or active users; north star for compounding growth.

Experimentation Velocity

Number of experiments shipped and validated per month; measures your ability to iterate and learn fast.

Is This Role For You?

For You If
  • You can code and enjoy building systems (Python, JavaScript, or similar); growth infra is a product to you
  • You think like a founder: you want to own metrics, strategy, and execution end-to-end
  • You're energized by developer audiences and understand their pain points authentically
  • You move fast, run disciplined experiments, and can separate signal from noise in growth data
  • You've shipped acquisition channels, conversion improvements, or PLG features that moved revenue
Won't Work If
  • You're a traditional marketer uncomfortable writing code or building technical infrastructure
  • You need remote flexibility; this is on-site in San Francisco
  • You prefer established processes and 12-month plans over rapid iteration and ambiguity
  • You've never tracked a conversion metric or designed an experiment end-to-end

Interview Process

3

Depth interviews

Conversations with product engineering, analytics, or CEO to validate coding ability, collaboration, and growth thinking

4

Final conversation

CEO or founder alignment on vision, metrics, and culture fit
