About Plant People

Plant People was born when two friends chose the healing potential of functional mushrooms, adaptogens, and herbs over pharmaceuticals on their recoveries back to health after experiencing traumatic spinal surgeries and learning how to walk again. What started as a personal path to recovery became a mission to restore nature's nurture.

We make doctor-formulated, non-GMO plant and mushroom supplements designed to help people sleep deeper, focus better, feel calmer, and live well. We're B Corp and Climate Neutral certified, and you can find us in Whole Foods Market, Target, Erewhon, REI, JetBlue, Sprouts, and other forward-thinking partners across the country. We are one of the fastest growing supplement brands on the market and we're looking for teammates to join us on this adventure.

Who We Are

Plant People is scaling fast and serious.

  • We're hands-on and all-in –

Everyone here builds. We take ownership, move fast, and stay scrappy. Whether it's launching a new SKU or jumping in on a last-minute shoot, we show up ready to solve, not sit back.
  • We lead with story, backed by data –

We're obsessed with how things look, feel, and resonate—but we also love performance metrics, A/B tests, and sharp pivots. Creative and analytical thinking live side by side here.
  • We care deeply –

About wellness. About the planet. About our customers. We're here because we believe there's a better way to help people feel good, and we want to build it together.
  • We give a damn –

About the details, the deadlines, the tone of a subject line, the flavor of a gummy. We sweat the small stuff because that's what earns trust and builds brand love.
  • We communicate clearly –

We believe feedback is fuel. We speak with intention, listen with curiosity, and work collaboratively—even when we disagree.
  • We stay curious –

We pay attention to what's happening in culture, in science, in our community. We're always learning—and never afraid to change our minds.

About the Role

We are a mission-driven, omnichannel CPG brand operating across retail, Amazon and DTC — entering our next phase of disciplined, data-driven growth. We’re looking for a highly analytical, execution-obsessed Director of Growth & Business Operations to act as a true extension of our CEO. This role is for a builder — someone who can turn strategy into measurable revenue and margin outcomes across retail, Amazon and DTC. This is not a traditional Chief of Staff role. You will not observe growth — you will drive it. You will own cross-functional initiatives, identify revenue and margin gaps and push projects through to execution with urgency and precision. If you thrive in high-velocity environments and want to materially impact the trajectory of a scaling CPG brand, this role is for you.

Growth & Revenue Acceleration

• Partner directly with the CEO to identify, prioritize and execute high-impact growth initiatives across retail, Amazon, DTC and emerging channels

• Own monthly revenue forecasting and gap-to-plan analysis across channels

• Identify and close revenue and margin gaps in real time

• Own weekly KPI reporting and lead growth performance reviews with clear action plans

• Implement corrective action plans when performance deviates from targets

• Analyze trade spend, promotions and channel contribution to improve profitability

• Support go-to-market planning and performance modeling for new product launches

Growth SWAT: Cross-Functional Execution

• Own major cross-functional initiatives end-to-end (marketing, sales, ops, product, finance)

• Operate with high autonomy and decision-making authority across growth initiatives

• Turn high-level strategy into structured plans with timelines, owners and measurable KPIs

• Run weekly growth and KPI reviews, driving accountability and forward progress

• Actively unblock teams and push initiatives across the finish line

• Improve operating cadence across forecasting, inventory velocity and promotional planning

Analytics & Business Intelligence

• Build and maintain revenue models, dashboards and performance frameworks

• Develop reporting systems for CAC, LTV, channel performance, inventory velocity, trade spend and contribution margin

• Surface actionable insights that inform strategic decisions

• Support scenario planning and financial modeling for growth investments

Operational Leadership

• Prepare executive-level materials including board-ready decks and analyses

• Improve internal processes and operating rhythms

• Serve as a high-trust strategic partner to the CEO while remaining deeply execution-oriented

What We’re Looking For

• 4–7 years experience in high-growth CPG, ecommerce, consulting or startup operations

• Experience in a founder-led environment strongly preferred

• Strong analytical skills with deep comfort in spreadsheets and modeling

• Experience supporting or owning omnichannel growth (retail + ecommerce preferred)

• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously

• Highly organized, detail-oriented and deadline-driven

• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-moving environments

• Self-starter with strong ownership mindset — you don’t wait to be told what to do

• Comfortable working directly with a founder who moves fast, thinks big and expects high standards

What You'll Get

We prioritize the well-being of our team. As a growing company, we strive to offer meaningful perks and benefits, including:

• Opportunity to help shape a fast-growing company at a pivotal stage

• Competitive compensation

• Competitive vacation, PTO and sick day policies

• Company-subsidized healthcare (medical, dental and vision)

• Equity participation aligned with long-term company growth

• 401(k) program up to the full IRS employee deferral limit

• Wellness reimbursement program (gym, groceries, meditation and more)

• Additional vacation days and sabbatical opportunities for long-term employees

• Annual summer work-from-anywhere policy

• Quarterly company-wide mental health days

• Team-building events, offsites and social gatherings

• Free product and friends & family discounts

• A thoughtful, motivated team that values both balance and excellence
