The Challenge
Universal Music France is the powerhouse behind France's biggest artists. You'll be the digital strategist bridging labels and streaming platforms—optimizing launches, managing partnerships with Spotify/Apple/Deezer, and driving measurable growth across the DSP ecosystem.
Your Mission
Establish yourself as the go-to digital strategist for 2-3 priority labels, audit their current streaming performance and identify quick wins
Map and document relationships with all major DSP editorial teams (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube, Amazon Music) to understand placement opportunities
Launch and track 3+ strategic playlist campaigns, measuring playlist adds, stream velocity, and playlist hold rates week-over-week
Build a repeatable content strategy and timeline optimization framework that labels can follow for singles and albums
Deliver measurable growth across 5+ label campaigns—target 20%+ improvement in playlist placement rates vs. baseline
Create a data dashboard tracking KPIs: DSP editorial placements, playlist momentum, release-week performance by platform, competitive benchmarks
Establish quarterly partnership reviews with DSP teams; secure 2+ exclusive or co-marketing partnership deals for major releases
Document and share best practices playbook with broader UMF teams; conduct 2-3 training sessions on digital strategy optimization
KPIs You'll Own
Playlist Placement Rate
Percentage of singles landing in tier-1 DSP playlists (editorial, algorithmic) within first 2 weeks of release.
Stream Velocity
Streams per day trajectory in weeks 1-4 post-release; measure acceleration/deceleration vs. comparable releases.
DSP Partnership Value
Number and caliber of exclusive placements, co-marketing deals, and editorial features secured per quarter.
Label ROI on Digital Spend
Cost-per-stream and playlist add efficiency; track marketing investment vs. streaming revenue uplift.
