The Challenge

Origin & Story Coffee has built a product that works—hundreds of subscribers with strong retention. Now they need a founding team member to own the paid growth engine as they transition paid marketing in-house from their agency partner.

Your Mission

First 3 Months
1

Shadow and fully document the current agency paid strategy; become proficient in the existing Meta ad account structure and performance baseline

Take ownership of Meta campaign management: assume control of all creative briefs, audience targeting, budget allocation, and daily optimization

3

Establish weekly performance reporting cadence tracking CPA, ROAS, conversion rate, and subscriber growth across all paid channels

4

Run 3-5 structured A/B tests on creative, copy, and audience segments to identify high-performing acquisition levers

By 6 Months
1

Reduce customer acquisition cost (CPA) by 15-20% vs. agency baseline through testing and optimization

2

Scale paid ad spend profitably to $20K+ monthly while maintaining target ROAS and subscriber growth targets

3

Build and document a paid growth playbook documenting winning creatives, audiences, landing pages, and seasonal patterns

4

Expand beyond Meta into at least one new channel (Google, TikTok, or partnerships) with early performance data

Customer Acquisition Cost (CPA)

Cost per acquired subscriber; your north star for paid efficiency and profitability

Return on Ad Spend (ROAS)

Revenue generated per dollar spent on ads; directly tied to your equity value and company profitability

Conversion Rate

Percentage of ad clicks that convert to paying subscribers; measure of landing page and creative fit

Monthly Subscriber Growth

New paid subscribers acquired from all channels; the metric that drives company valuation

Lifetime Value (LTV)

Total revenue per subscriber over their lifetime; you'll work with retention lead to optimize this

  • You've managed $5K-$15K+ monthly Meta ad spend for DTC subscription or ecommerce brands and can show CPA and ROAS improvements
  • You're energized by equity ownership and building from zero—you see paid growth as directly tied to your financial upside
  • You're hands-on in Ads Manager: campaign structure, audiences, pixel/CAPI, A/B testing are second nature
  • You have subscription, CPG, food & beverage, or specialty retail background that gives you context for this market
  • You're comfortable owning ambiguity during an agency transition and learning a live ad account under pressure

  • You need immediate cash compensation or health benefits—this is equity-only with no salary
  • You prefer remote work; this role requires on-site presence for collaboration and learning during transition
  • You're a campaign executor who needs prescriptive direction—this role demands strategic ownership and independent problem-solving from day one
