# Digital Marketing and Brand Manager

**Pope Francis Center** · Detroit, MI 48208

*About the Pope Francis Center*

For more than three decades, the Pope Francis Center has stood at the front lines of Detroit’s fight against homelessness, restoring dignity, opportunity, and stability to our city’s most vulnerable neighbors. Each day, we welcome nearly 200 guests and provide nutritious meals, showers and laundry facilities, and on-site access to medical, dental, legal, and housing services through our network of free clinics.

Our vision is bold and unwavering: a Detroit without homelessness, where every person has the resources to achieve sustained stability. We are building the team that will carry that vision forward.

*Position Summary*

The Pope Francis Center seeks a creative, strategic, and mission-driven Digital Marketing & Brand Manager to strengthen our brand, expand our digital presence, and translate the daily impact of our work into compelling communications that move audiences to act.

Reporting to the Director of Executive and External Communications and partnering closely with the Development team, this role manages the Center’s brand and digital marketing efforts across the website, social media, email, video, digital campaigns, and other communications channels.

This is a hands-on role for a versatile marketing professional who can move between strategy and execution, manage multiple projects, collaborate across departments, and bring forward ideas that increase awareness, donor engagement, volunteer participation, and community support.

*Key Responsibilities*

*Brand Management & Creative Direction*

* Strengthen and steward the Pope Francis Center brand across digital, print, fundraising, event, and community-facing communications.
* Maintain consistency in messaging, visual identity, logo usage, typography, tone, and design.
* Develop branded templates, campaign concepts, presentations, graphics, advertisements, event materials, signage, and donor communications.
* Provide creative direction for photography, video, campaigns, events, and other major communications projects.
* Review work produced by internal teams and external partners to ensure quality, accuracy, and brand alignment.

*Website & Digital Marketing*

* Manage and regularly update the Center’s website content, structure, storytelling, and user experience.
* Create and maintain program pages, news stories, event listings, campaign landing pages, calls to action, and other timely content.
* Partner with external vendors on website design, maintenance, accessibility, search visibility, and technical improvements.
* Develop integrated digital campaigns that support awareness, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and community engagement.
* Use website, email, and campaign analytics to identify opportunities to improve traffic, engagement, and conversions.
* Explore emerging digital channels and formats, including podcasts, livestreams, interviews, and other multimedia opportunities.

*Content, Storytelling & Social Media*

* Build a consistent pipeline of stories from the Day Center, Bridge Housing Campus, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
* Develop trusted relationships across both locations to support respectful and authentic storytelling.
* Interview guests, residents, staff, volunteers, and supporters and translate their experiences into written, visual, video, and multimedia content.
* Conceptualize, shoot, edit, caption, and publish video content for the website, social media, events, fundraising campaigns, and presentations.
* Manage the Center’s social media platforms and maintain a forward-looking editorial calendar.
* Uphold the privacy, dignity, informed consent, and personal agency of every guest and resident whose story is shared.
* Maintain an organized digital library of photography, video, brand assets, releases, templates, and completed work.

*Fundraising, Events & Collaboration*

* Partner with the Development team on year-end campaigns, Giving Tuesday, fundraising appeals, donor cultivation, sponsorships, and the annual gala.
* Create campaign graphics, videos, landing pages, sponsor-recognition materials, advertisements, signage, and donor-facing communications.
* Translate the impact of philanthropic support into clear and compelling stories.
* Work with program staff to identify content opportunities without disrupting services or creating unnecessary burdens.
* Collaborate across departments to gather information, manage approvals, establish timelines, and keep projects moving.

*Analytics, Vendors & Project Management*

* Establish and track performance indicators for the website, social media, email, digital campaigns, fundraising engagement, and volunteer recruitment.
* Provide regular, concise performance reports and recommendations to leadership and internal partners.
* Manage multiple projects, deadlines, budgets, vendors, reviews, and approvals.
* Coordinate photographers, videographers, printers, web developers, designers, and other creative partners.
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at a high level of quality.

*Qualifications & Experience*

*Required*

* Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, journalism, digital media, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
* At least four years of experience in digital marketing, brand management, communications, graphic design, content creation, or related field.
* Demonstrated experience managing an organizational brand across multiple channels and audiences.
* Experience managing website content through WordPress or a comparable content-management system.
* Strong graphic-design and visual-communications skills, supported by a professional portfolio.
* Proficiency in video production, including concept development, shooting, editing, captioning, and publishing.
* Experience managing social media as part of a broader marketing and communications strategy.
* Strong written, visual, verbal, project-management, and organizational skills.
* Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, take initiative, and collaborate across departments.
* Sound judgment and sensitivity when communicating about people who have experienced homelessness, trauma, poverty, or other personal challenges.

*Preferred*

* Experience in a nonprofit, advocacy, human-services, faith-based, or mission-driven organization.
* Experience supporting fundraising campaigns, sponsorships, donor communications, and major events.
* Proficiency with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, Mailchimp, WordPress, Google Analytics, and social scheduling platforms.
* Experience managing creative vendors, production budgets, and project timelines.
* Experience with podcasts, livestreaming, email marketing, digital advertising, or search engine optimization.
* A deep personal commitment to addressing homelessness, poverty, and social inequity.
