## VP of Marketing

VP of Marketing is the most common senior marketing title at Series B-C SaaS companies in the US. The role owns brand, demand gen, product marketing, and ABM. Below the CMO at large companies; above the CMO functionally at smaller ones. Best-fit candidates have a track record of taking marketing from $5M to $50M in pipeline, hiring 5-10 marketers, and partnering with sales on revenue ownership. Increasingly the role overlaps with VP of Growth, the line gets blurry below 200 employees.

## Demand Generation Manager

Demand Gen is marketing tied to the sales number. The role owns pipeline, MQL volume, ABM programs, and increasingly the marketing-ops stack (HubSpot, Salesforce, 6sense, Clearbit). Best-fit candidates think in funnels, can build a HubSpot workflow at 11pm, and have war stories about negotiating MQL definitions with Sales VPs. The discipline is heavy in B2B SaaS at $5M-$50M ARR, where the marketing team is judged purely on pipeline contribution. AI is reshaping the role, increasingly demand gen leaders are owning the sales-AI tooling (warm intros via Clay/Sandler, AI SDR enrichment) on top of classic ABM.
