## Product Marketing Manager

Product Marketing is the highest-leverage role in B2B SaaS. The PMM owns positioning, messaging, launches, sales enablement, and competitive intelligence. Best-fit candidates write fast, think in stories, and partner well with product, sales, and demand gen, the role is dependent on cross-functional trust. The hottest PMM specialty right now is AI Product Marketing, the few PMMs who deeply understand model capabilities and can write product narratives non-technical buyers grasp are commanding outsized salaries. ## Marketing Director

Marketing Director is the senior-IC-becoming-manager title. They own a function (demand gen, content, brand) or a region (NA, EMEA), report to a VP, and manage 2-6 people. Best-fit candidates have 6-10 years experience, prior people management, and at least one channel they can still execute on themselves when the team is short. The title is most common at companies between Series B and IPO where there's enough scale for layered management but the senior team still needs hands-on operators. At pre-Series-B companies the title often replaces VP for cost reasons.
